Quimper area
The Finistère is bursting with fantastic places to visit...
La Forêt Fouesnant : Sunday market, 16th century church and renowned "Fête des cerisiers" this pretty, authentic Breton village will delight you.
Port La Forêt :
The largest marina in Brittany, well known for its sailing champions, like Michel DESJOYAUX and Jean LE CAM.
Pont-Aven :
A charming village renowned for its mills and painting school created by Paul Gauguin, an inspiration to many artists.
Many artists and photographers exhibit and sell their work here.
Locronan :
This former weaving village is often used as a backdrop for films, notably during the filming of "Tess" by Roman Polanski and more recently "Un long dimanche de fiançailles" by Jean Pierre Jeunet.
Nevez :
In Nevez, you can admire the numerous authentic thatched houses. The two villages that have conserved the most thatched houses are Kerascoët and Kercanic.
Quimper :
The capital of the area, Quimper is a moderate sized town with delightful paved streets, cathedral and paths along the Odet river.
